i am totally in love with this picture right now...
actually i HAVE BEEN...
for quite some time now...
but i just think it's so pretty...
cute kids at the rodeo...
didnt expect the shot to come out decent...
coz i was trying to sneak the shot without having their parents wrestle me to the ground...
you know...
like i want to kidnap their kids or something...

it reminds me of carefree times...
travelling...
where the sky is always bluer...
and the colours seem so bright...

i black-and-whited everything save for the blue blue sky...
not sure how it would turn out...
but i must say it aint bad...
at least the guy said so...
taken by my trusty ole' Casio....

caught the Dim Sum Dollies with the guy at the Esplanade last night...
and i LOVED it...
every single bit of it...
though i thought the Playmill performances were slightly more intimate....
and therefore in a sense, more interactive...
this was, without a doubt, more expensive...
but really worth every penny...
especially if you're a Singaporean...

of course, there were the indispensable racial jokes...
but everyone knows that it was all in the name of fun...
and i guess...
with their execution...
in good humour as well...
now i'm kinda regretting the fact that this is my first Dim Sum experience...
having missed all last 5 or 6 performances in the past 6 years...
but then again...
the $70+ bucks spent per ticket...
didnt go down well with my bank account...
and even if it did...
my family sure put me on one hell of a guilt trip...

it's just mentality i guess...
my parents assert that they would never spend this kinda money on shows like this...
thats why my dad was of the opinion that the Esplanade will close down within 5 years...
but i really enjoy such acts...
wouldnt say arts...
dont think i'm at that level yet...
i enjoy good films, music, theatre (when affordable) and dance (if you count STOMP!)...
it really helps that the guy has good taste...
or we just happen to like the same stuff...
my iPod is synced to his iTunes...
now in order to minimise my guilt...
i'm torn between buying tickets for The Roots, Maroon 5 and The Pillowman....
help...

vday was exciting...
to say the very least...
but saying the least isnt what blogs are about...
so here goes...

guy and i are total cheapskates...
we refused to pay exhorbitant prices and jostle with the flower-toting crowds on the date itself...
though i enquired about dinner at prive on keppel island...
only to find the earlier (sunset) seating fully booked...
so we treated ourselves to a little Flutes at the Fort on the 13th...
okay...
he paid for it...
but his angbao collection is about 7 times of mine...

place is real pretty...
colonial architecture...
dressed tables...
art that i din quite comprehend but liked some anyway...

then the actual day itself came...
truth be told...
although we kinda agreed to no presents no flowers this year...
i was feeling kinda green coz every other girl is toting blooming bouquets...
even the guys too...
so i pouted and hid my head under the quilt the whole evening...
but the drama truly began when i decided to snap out of it...
drive down to the singapore river with him...
for free music by the river...
the cheapskates that we are....

but as i rolled off the bed...
the left side of my chest started to hurt real bad whenever i tried to breathe...
which truly equates to every 2 seconds...
and especially when i breathed in deep...
guy got me to lie down...
and we waited...
thinking it will go away...
as it sometimes does...
when it didnt...
after a whole 10-15 minutes...
we decided maybe we should drive down to TTSH instead...
since the guy just lives a couple of bus stops away...
then it hurt like hell when i tried to get up...
i panicked and started crying...
he called the ambulance...
resulting in what i call...

my first, and hopefully, ONLY ambulance ride...
3 paramedics fussing over me...
+ 1 boyfriend...
taking bp...
giving me oxygen...
putting me on the rolling chair/bed/transformer...
the ride was extremely short...
and probably a terrible waste of money...
but i did get better on the ride...
maybe it's the pure O2...
got to the hospital...
got an ECG, X-ray...
and the doc gave me a puzzled look and said nothing seems to be wrong...
dad and mom finally came by...
i started tearing again for making them worry...
and i was discharged...
0005 hrs 15th feb...

so vday evening just flew by like that...

we did kinda have a replacement evening though...
No Country for Old Men at Vivocity...
dinner with a seaview (kinda...)...
tiramisu/bailey's icecream...
and a walk down singapore river....
only to end up at the raffles statue...
and trying our darnest not to look like cheapskates wanting free music...

so my vday really was a 3 day festival...
quite awesome if you think about it...

i dont think there can be anyone else who handles me as well as the guy does...
i have my fair share of tantrums...
un-funny jokes...
whimsical cravings...
unreasonable requests...
insane demands...
think-about-your-next-answer-very-carefully...
fickle wants...
spontaneous needs...
i just told him i want a american-styled wedding band...
like the one we just saw in Dan in Real Life...
(and a garden reception just like that...
so pretty...)

not that we're thinking of marriage already...
though i've been looking out for things i want in my wedding...
(guy or some other guy...)
a wedding band...
no studio wedding photos...
but stuff in the weirdest places...
and as arty-farty as our creativity can take us...
then a mini photo exhibition in the reception area before the wedding dinner...
i want a vintage volkswagen beetle as the wedding car...
lalala...

i'm just glad it's the guy...
and not any one else...
