met the bballers for dinner and stuff... was only half our full team... but had a truly wonderful time... realised how much i missed them... how long we've been friends... and memories of what we went through together back in sec school... just came flooding back...  jas and myself... dragged them to Thai Express just so i can use my voucher... but good thing for them too... coz dinner was on them... were celebrating GY's and my birthday... it was cool really... 15 buckeroos off the total bill... plus a nice bottle of wine to takeaway... so sweet of Thai Express... everyone quick go and get their membership... lalaala...  GY and rene... the former looks a lot different compared to our sec school days... probably is ai qing de zi run... wahahha... rene is still her same 'ol self... still utterly suan-able... but she kinda picked up some whining techniques... which really gave us the creeps the entire evening...  food was good... this is GY's noodle thingy... i had my green laksa... which was utterly spicy... but oh-so-good... shared drumlets as well... and passed rene's watermelon-lime around... yummilicious!  GY and myself... she looks so tiny beside me... which is otherwise translated to, "i look FAT beside her." so i decided not to take anymore pictures beside her anymore! did i just use two 'anymore's in one sentence? just goes to show how distraught i am...  jas and rene... this picture took some time to come out... coz we realised rene looks better with half her head hidden behind jas... but then again... we wont be able to see her then... so oh well... had to make do with the distance trick... just so that rene's head will look small...  made our way to the Esplanade... one of my favourite places to go, really... you get performances in the mall... by the waterfront... today we saw TKG's string ensemble... and a string quartet who were mainly from NUS... and GY knew like half of them...  another reason why i like the Esplanade... the quirky exhibits that get you thinking sometimes... this wasnt that interesting... just took the picture coz of the pretty pink... but prior to this was some astroboy thingy... which had a write-up to do with LKY... weird combo... but din really get down to reading it...  GY was totally fascinated with this display... i guess she likes all things white... but it was interesting... like an urban waterfall... or something like that... water flowing everywhere... very minimalistic... very sleek... pretty cool...  went to the rooftop... where rene took out the brownie she baked... brownie mix... but got special toppings of crushed oreos and icing sugar... yummy stuff...  me and rene in the Esplanade rooftop toilet... fun la... though we had to take this in a hurry... scared the pple in the toilet come out and *shake head* at us... stop staring at the waist. or rather, the lack of one...  all of us... i think i'm very experienced in taking such shots... "look where?" "at the camera lens on the reflection!"  GY suggested doing something weird... and so we did... i found this funny because i realised... i was BEHIND the flash... physically and literally... geddit? BEHIND the flash?  one of the better self shots taken... at least everyone looks normal here.... we had like 4 shots of these... everyone who walked past thought we were mad... but we were just reliving our mad schoolgirl days...  weird face shots... suggestion put forth by GY again... dun ask what i was doing... coz i dunnoe... didnt have time to think...  walked over to One Fullerton... the merlion... actually it wasnt sprouting water... until we walked past it... must be our lucky day... the river was very dry... low tide probably... maybe the Merlion knew... just kidding... i not stupid la... i know the Merlion water is pumped from the river...  i told rene the Merlion looked like her... so i kinda forced her to take a picture with mini-merlion... uncanny resemblance huh!  acting like tourists... which was super fun really... this was when the Merlion just started sprouting water... and we were darn excited... scared the water would stop... so quick quick take!  jas and rene were trying to make use of the light under the railing to take a HP pic... my flash, no matter how ugly, finally became useful...  ok la... while i would like to say this idea was original... and we thought of me collecting Merlion water in my mouth... it wasnt... a group of HKG aunties were trying to pull this shot off... albeit unsuccessfully... the other ladies were too prim and proper to do something as embarassing as this... so i had to do it... but they were lousy...  this is wat i took of rene... in order to position the water near her mouth... i had to kneel on the floor... quite terrible la... considering i was wearing a skirt... but good yeah? the water really like coming out from her mouth...  this one also gets more water in the mouth... wahahha... and she looks happy to be drinking Merlion water...  walked over to boat quay... through all the restaurants by the riverfront... then a turn back along Circular Road... passed by all the nite places that i never really been to before... pretty cool stuff really... saw nice loungey places... sofas and candles... Restroom, Bedroom... ?!?!!? GY recommended a jazz place above Coffee Bean... and jas showed us where Eski Bar was... cool places... probably check them out some time...  rene and myself on the EW line back to hostel... she's still hell of a lot of fun... really miss our crappy times together... she's da bomb...  put this in sepia coz that kinda camourflages the blurness... but it kinda suited the mood as well... these are friends who lasted the test of time... we go way back to sec 1... the blur people getting together to play basketball... the trainings.... the jogs... the matches... the sleeping or mugging at the bball courts every morning before assembly without fail... thanks for the great night. ----Stef stopped rambling at 23:32 --Link to Post |
