day 2 in Taiwan today... went the area around Taipei 101 to shop and look see... stuff very very ex... even the departmental stores sells dowdy blouses for SGD250... not to mention stuff like JPG, Gucci, Ralph Lauren and stuff... irony is... the only things we got today were slippers from Muji (a pair each) and a t-shirt from Esprit... both of which we can find in sg... wahahah... we saw a brown top from an ulu brand as well... simple halter with a shell clasp... SGD120... was definitely not within my budget... but he liked it alot... urgh.... why so ex??? ate at din tai fung today... slightly cheaper than those in sg... but service is like... woah... service here is very... huan ying guang ling... qing man man kan... xuan le neng shi chuan ne... man zou... xie xie ni... to the unintiated it was whiney, to say the least... even at the airport duty-free... i had goosebumps... dinner was at Chilli... western stuff... couldnt finish my pasta... but prices were... each person more than out total bill at din tai fung.. ate with two of his cousins... and one cousin's gf... met more family today... frankly it's pretty uncomfortable for me... and truthfully... i dont think i'm being a totally fantastic gf of a cousin/grandson/nephew... if only i spoke mandarin better.. with more ease and confidence... maybe i would leave a better impression... day 3 will be xi men ting... probably more stuff to buy... more affordable... yippie! shih lin too! and moving to his uncle's empty home... with private hot spring! life IS good... ----Stef stopped rambling at 02:03 --Link to Post |
