had a good day at work today..
cant decide why... maybe it's coz i din have to come up with quotations... therefore no major screw-up... or that i spent most of the day doing up my pay details... or that i had the chance to sit in a 3-way conference call at my client's office... singapore-vietnam-philippines... way cool! i got free lunch from weijie... getting along just fine with my colleagues... vince boo!-ed me when we met at the overhead bridge... he kinda reminds me of colin of 18th SC leh... chian's been offering to help me buy drinks... olivier's joking more... am now on smiling terms with the building management pple... now i'm probably more ready to manage catastrophes.. more confident when i speak to clients and all liaoz... enjoying work is a good feeling.. really... went for meeting at southpoint... mom's old workplace.. mom's rite abt the great view... of keppel habour... and the lego-like containers... met the pple behind the design of products like baygon and touche... way cool! got a brief on the process of product design... never knew it takes so freaking long just to do something like dat... market research... human response to a product design... they actually have machines to test that! this... that... everything... sat in for the international conference call... way cool! but as alwaz... mouth tight shut... until some points abt the pre-production work comes up... and i speak a little.. but it's way cool! met weijie for lunch... everybody seems to be having casual fridays.. well... i'm casual everyday without meetings... ate nasi lemak somewhere opposite his office... not bad... but best part is that it was free... muahaha... i cant really remember why he had to treat... maybe it was my "dunnoe-why-you-have-to, but-you-have-to-treat-me"... probably the second time i meet him where we sit face to face... 5 years ago... i probably see him every week or something... only that it was usually the back of his head... when he was at the computer... wf and him share the same room... heh... think he looks better with specs... i think alot of pple look very intellectual with specs... and i think thats a great thing... not everyone looks better in contacts ya? but good thing abt eating with the ah chek here is that we never run out of things to say... i talked so much i couldnt eat fast enough... he finished when i wasnt even halfway through... and he still says he eats slower than all his female colleagues... *shrugs* it's small world really... spent alot of time the past week looking for talents and models for an upcoming shoot... surfing the modelling agencies online... saw one of the guys i saw online at lunch today... oh well... too bad... he wasnt one of those shortlisted... client wants someone like ken wantabe (The Last Samurai)... any volunteers? family met nanny's family for dinner at pasir ris... kor's first paycheck and the 10 of us got a 300 buck treat... muahhah... oh well... bet he must have been feeling ultra sore... but i guess the elation of getting second upper honours and 2 mths pay will offset any =(... jie got abit carried away with the ordering... shark's fin... guilty as charged... 4 crabs... venison... mai4 pian4 xia1... steamed fish... the clam thingy... hotplates... cuttlefishes with kangkong... mantou-s... best part... jie's husband wasnt eating much... bro's keen to get out of obesity... dad needed to squeeze back into the car with the tiny space between car door and pillar... jie just had seafood pig-out last weekend... i was the last man standing... as alwaz... but swept the black peppered crabs clean... my favourite... boy boy darn cute la... love it when little children hug you... it just feels so good... i'm not michael jackson... no worries.. but the way he hugged kor when kor carried him... and how he clamoured for kor when the latter left for the toilet... so ke ai!!! but wait till he climbs all over you... calls you by your nickname... and talks back to you... you tell him "mei da mei xiao"... he will answer "qi da qi xiao"... wah liew... he's oni 3... *shake head* nanny alwaz says i'm the guai-est kid of all... =) *floats* am going to her place for dinner on monday... she's definitely gonna cook up a storm... paiseh but... yummy! rest of family going for holiday in thailand... not joining them... coz of major shoots coming up... been to thailand anywayz... but been some time since i last went on hols with them... miss the feeling... and i'm dying to have thai food... authentic and CHEAP thai food! ahhhh! i'm working at beach road... whats the prb when golden mile is just a few minutes away? muahhaha... bringing grandparents for toast and kopi tomorrow... going to mr sung's baby celebrations.. and meeting the 19th SC at nite... packed day... but it's good... better than rotting at home... though i'll appreciate the extra sleep... esp with euro'04 on... ciaoz. ----Stef stopped rambling at 00:01 --Link to Post |
