hey guys!!!!
i'm back!!! woohoo! been some time since i last blogged... the keyboard's kinda foreign to me... penang had been a great experience... there were ups and downs... but the fact that the downs make good learning points... makes the trip a really fulfilling one... so many things happened over the ten days there... i dont know where to start... but it has been really really cool... the foreign sailors... how we try to converse in simple english... hand signals and the like... the cute koreans...thai..HKGers..japs... the strong winds... the big storm that blew the whole tentage away... got us really freaked... but gave us a chance to know the others better... my crazy team mates... how we bunked into each others' rooms... watch TV... drink vodka... eat crap... wrestle each other... my sucky coach... who amazingly got to be part of the international jury... which sucked coz he would have to abandon us most of the time... bleah... the freaky weather... where it could get piercing hot one minute... and get blown around by a tropical storm the next... the amount of shopping one could do there... bought lotsa stuff... splurged 60 sing dollars on a pair of boardshorts... which was pretty insane... bought a mambo bag which i realised on hindsight that it din really suit me... the food in penang... which could be quite monotonous when you eat the hotel breakfast like 9 mornings in a row... the same hawker centre almost every lunch... and din get to go the famous gurney drive until the very last day... jellifishes in the waters... freaking alot... white one.. yellow one... long or short.. fat or skinny... my new ouxiangz... alot of the thai sailors... for being there when we needed help and advice... being the funny guys they are... ah dong the fireman from HKG... for making us feel good abt ourselves even though our sailing sucked... oka... for being the humble asian games gold medalist... talking to me like he was never one... junho cho... for been ever so funny... and sweet when talking abt his galfren...
